FREE downloadable STEAM Guide for Early Years Providers
STEAM Education are delighted to have collaborated with Cork City Childcare
to produce a free resource for Early Learning and Care services!
Both Aistear and Síolta highlight the importance of children having
opportunities to explore and think about the world around them. Supporting
children’s engagement with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths
(STEAM) recognises and provides children with opportunities to solve
problems, to use their imaginations, experiment, to ask questions and to
work in partnership with others.
When beginning this project, Cork City Childcare wanted to produce
something that Cork City ELC Educators could use as a starting point or a
guidance document that could be pulled on when needed, and that could be
read/watched in their own time. Together with 20 Early Childcare Providers
in Cork City we ran a pilot project, to ensure that our resources were
useful, practical, tested in real time by relevant Educators, and of
course, fun!
We are delighted to provide this free resource, in association with Cork
City Childcare, so that ELC Educators can continue to engage in STEAM
activities and use the language of STEAM.
We hope this downloadable tool is useful and that it provides the
confidence to explore further, and to follow the children’s lead.
Keep the download button and the link to Cork City Childcare that are
there, thanks
